Gucci has created a super chic pop-up hangout in Shoreditch. Located on Chance Street in a building designed by Sir David Adjaye, Gucci Circolo is a wall-to-wall intoxicating experience of sound and vision. Formerly a home and studio for artists, this is the ideal setting for Gucci’s new stylish boutique, café and bookstore all rolled into one, which marks the fashion label’s 100th anniversary. A multisensory feast, Circolo showcases Gucci 100, the fabulous one-off ready-to-wear collection of garments, footwear and accessories, courtesy of talented designer Alessandro Michele.
What’s more, the exciting Hacker Project with Balenciaga will drop on 15th November. Hacker is a glorious celebration of Gucci/Balenciaga pieces. Visitors to Circolo can saunter into the Listening Lounge, with vinyls curated by the likes of Billie Eillish, Iggy Pop, Nick Cave, Arlo Parks and Florence Welch. You can also download a special playlist whilst at the venue.
The bespoke onsite bookstore, curated by publisher IDEA, is bedecked with a plethora of art, fashion and photography tomes. There are several fascinating limited-edition Gucci books, in particular “Beaten and Blown By the Wind” by American photographer Bruce Gilden. Impressive too is the street art featured in the volume by creative genius Michele, part of the pre-Autumn 2020 collection shot in Rome. “Dapper Dan’s Harlem” delves into the delights of the Harlem home of Gucci’s haberdasher (and partner). It is bursting with gorgeous images of the locality and interesting portraits of his friends.
Circolo’s interior design is decadent – the wood-panelled walls are darkly sumptuous. Gucci’s vivid ‘Glade Print’ design adorns the wallpaper.
Head down to this veritable treasure trove while you still can – booking is, of course, essential!
